Cyber attacks have hit the Bird of the Year competition, for the third year in a row.
Forest and Bird have revealed 310 dubious votes rolled in from a single IP address in Australia.
Forest and Bird's Kimberly Collins told Larry Williams they have had to bring in a cyber-security company to monitor the competition.
"We are trying to find any unusual spikes or fraudulent email addresses."
The Kererū is currently leading the flock, having receieved more than 3000 votes.
