Auckland is edging closer to its borders lifting at midnight.
Once the checkpoints lift, Police will do random spot checks at the north and south exits of Tāmaki Makaurau.
And two northbound checkpoints will be ready to go in Northland.
Kaipara Mayor Jason Smith told Heather du Plessis-Allan he understands the new Northland borders will move in a few days.
“So, the Maungaturoto and Uretiti checkpoint locations are going to be in those places for 4–5 days and then they will move to other places around Northland.”
