Anticipation's building in Dunedin, as the city swells ahead the first of three Ed Sheeran concerts.

Traffic is backed up on the road from Christchurch to Dunedin - as fans make their way south to Forsyth Stadium.

Fencing has been put up on Bath St, as crowds flock to get pictures taken with the now-infamous Ed Sheeran mural.

Superfan Jasmine McLeish - who's already seen the singer in concert 15 times - says [told Heather du Plessis-Allan] she's camped out overnight at the stadium.

"As soon he announced the dates and it was on my birthday, I knew that I had to come."

More than 100,000 people have bought tickets for the star's three shows, which expects to bring in $34 million to the local economy.
