There’s a bridge between what’s considered fair between managers and non-managers, when it comes to our pay.
Research shows 73% of managers think pay is fair and transparent at their workplace – whereas only 60% of employees do.
AUT Business School Professor Jarrod Haar told Heather du Plessis-Allan he’s not surprised by the data.
“Two groups get disadvantaged by pay gaps – women and Maori and Pasifika.”
He said fairness and transparency of wages in a workplace can help retain staff.
