Huge stockpiles of recycling are building up around the country - and nobody knows what to do with it.
New Zealand previously sent most of our recycling to China to be processed.
But China has now closed its doors to paper and plastics coming into the country.
Smart Environmental spokesperson Graham Christian told Larry Williams recycling has been piling up since the ban with nowhere for it to go.
He says they're keeping most of the stock onsite but are asking councils to help them find more storage.
