A group of twelve organisations including Renters United are calling on Trade Me to take action against illegal rental listings and to stop profiting from a human rights crisis.Â
It comes after months of poor-quality sheds and rooms being listed as suitable accommodation on the site.Â
The open letter calls for Trade Me to declare if the property complies with the residential tenancies act and the healthy homes standards.Â
It's estimated Trade Me make around $329 per listing.Â
