A Thames-Coromandel councillor wants to see his mayor ousted due to her Covid-19 vaccine stance.

Sandra Goudie doesn't want to get the Pfizer jab and has recently spoken to an Australian anti-vaccination group.

The council's chief executive will soon decide whether vaccine passes will be required to enter council facilities and offices.

Councillor Gary Gotlieb laid a conduct complaint about Goudie's behaviour which wasn't investigated.

He told Heather du Plessis-Allan he doesn't have confidence in the mayor and hopes passes will be mandatory.

“You can’t reason with the lady. She just refuses to back down or refuses to say she’s wrong.”

Goudie has been contacted for comment.
