New Zealand may have lost to Australia 2-1 in the Olympics on Wednesday, but debutant Gabi Rennie’s first touch in her goal was spectacular.
And extra special, one of the very few people allowed in that crowd was Gabi’s older brother, a TV camera operator.
Rennie told Heather du Plessis-Allan to have her brother there to see her score on her debut was fortunate and something they’re both so grateful for.
“Him getting to be there was just such a cool feeling and getting to share that together was an awesome moment for both of us.”
