A local dairy in Whangarei has been told to take down a sign which declared: "Ice cream makes you happy".

The Advertising Standards Authority upheld a complaint over the sign, saying the claim that there is a link between ice cream and happiness could potentially undermine the health and wellbeing of consumers, highlighting obesity and mental health issues in New Zealand.

Fat Studies Scholar Dr Cat Pause joined Heather du Plessis-Allan Drive to share her thoughts on the removal of the sign.
