There's global anticipation for this weekend's royal wedding - but there wasn't always a buzz around monarchical nuptials.
Queen Victoria is said to have made giant leaps towards the modern wedding, by scrapping the idea of saying 'I do' at night - and opting for a day service.
Screenwriter of the TV Series 'Victoria', Daisy Goodwin says the Queen also took a carriage ride to greet waiting subjects.
"I think she realised that a wedding was a good opportunity for a bit of a ratings boost for the monarchy."
