An election victory...finally.
Australia's longest campaign in 50-odd years, a week-long cliff hanger, and the country's been left unchanged in its leadership.
Nine News political reporter Tiffany Genders told Rachel Smalley a northern territory newspaper has summed it up pretty well.
"After 60-odd days of torture, Turnbull's still PM, Shorten's still Labor leader, tomorrow should be a national public holiday as compensation."
She said MPs head back to Canberra today, and they have a busy week ahead.
"The Liberal party and their National party have to sign a new agreement. Malcolm Turnbull does need to shake up his Cabinet a little bit."
