Being forced out of government could make Italy's eurosceptic parties even stronger.
The new populist coalition government has collapsed after the president rejected the nomination of an anti-euro economics minister.
That's frustrated coalition members, like the centre-right league and far-right Five Star Movement.
But Italian journalist Sabina Castle-Franco told Tim Dower being forced from power could make the parties far more powerful next time around.
"Yes, we will go back to the polls, but these two parties could end up gaining more votes than they did at the last elections."
Castle-Franco says Italians are growing frustrated with immigration and high unemployment.
"We're so used to it, but I do think this time Italians really voted very strongly for some change."
