There is a huge amount of anxiety among healthcare staff about Covid-19.

Five doctors in Indonesia have died of the illness, the first French doctor has died and dozens of Bulgarian doctors have resigned because they don't have enough protective gear.

Italian doctors are calling for more people to be treated at home.

Emergency doctor Kelvin Ward told Kate Hawkesby health workers here are very anxious.

He says some people are terrified because they're seeing what's happened overseas.

Ward says if that happens in New Zealand, it would be a disaster for our healthcare system.
