The Silver Lake deal will be decided today at New Zealand Rugby's AGM.
Provincial unions will vote on a recommendation from NZ Rugby that it should sell a chunk of its commercial rights to an American tech investment company.
It could bring in several hundred million dollars.
But it needs the support of more than half the provincial unions and the players' association.
Former CEO of New Zealand Rugby, David Moffett, joined Tim Dower.
“If I was attending the meeting today, representing a provincial rugby union, I’d want a couple things. I’d want the New Zealand Rugby Union to be ultra-transparent about what this deal actually means.”
