The government is demanding District Health Boards cut $138 million from their budgets this financial year.
Many DHBs have signalled they'll do so by not filling positions that become vacant.
However Labour's Health Spokesperson Annette King told Rachel Smalley that to re-prioritise funds away from staffing doesn't make sense, and staff are calling the scheme 'care-rationing'.Â
