A politics professor has kept his word, after promising to eat his own book if Jeremy Corbyn won more than 38 percent of the vote in the UK election.
Prior to the 2017 election, Matthew Goodwin, a politics professor at the University of Kent, tweeted he would "happily eat" his book, Brexit: Why Britain voted to leave the European Union if Corbyn's Labour Party exceeded his expectations.
I'm saying this out loud. I do not believe that Labour, under Jeremy Corbyn, will poll 38%. I will happily eat my new Brexit book if they do

Unfortunately for Mr Goodwin, Labour won 40.3 percent of the vote.
After facing pressure from his Twitter followers, he faced up to Sky News and delivered on his promise.
