Trump has won in North Carolina, the first swing state to be called.
The call prompted an eruption of cheers at the Trump headquarters.
The win secures the state’s 16 electoral votes and Trump continues to show strong returns in most other battleground states so far.
Trump also leads in Georgia and Pennsylvania, where the majority of votes have been counted.
