Updated 11:27am: Suspicions over the printing of extra voting papers, two weeks out from Fiji's first election in eight years.
Organisers are facing accusations of corruption, after 700,000 ballot papers were printed for just over 590,000 registered voters.
Supervisor of elections Mohammed Saneem told Humm FM spare copies are printed, in case people make a mistake.
He says on final counting the presiding officer and elections team are required to reconcile the number of ballot papers against the number of signatures on the day.
Mohammed Saneem says it's hard to predict how many papers each venue will need.
Kiwis sent to Fiji for election
A team of New Zealand observers will be on the ground in Fiji as its first democratic election takes place later this month.
Foreign Minister Murray McCully says a five person team is being sent to the island nation to join the Multinational Observer Group.
Its aim is to give the local and international community confidence in the election's outcome.
Mr McCully says the calibre of New Zealand's election observers is a reflection of our willingness to assist Fiji on its way to democracy.
