Maria Sharapova will be eligible to play at next year's French Open after having her two year doping ban reduced to 15 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Russian was banned for two years after failing a doping test for meldonium during the Australian Open in January.
The ban will now expire on the 25th of April next year, with the French Open starting in late May.
An arbitration panel "found that Ms Sharapova committed an anti-doping rule violation and that while it was with 'no significant fault', she bore some degree of fault, for which a sanction of fifteen months is appropriate," Switzerland-based CAS said in a statement.
he ban took effect from January 26, 2016.
Sharapova will have missed four Grand Slam tournaments when she returns to tennis.
The Russian has posted comments on her Facebook page saying she is counting the days until she can return to the court.
However she refers to the medication she was prescribed as an over the counter supplement, commonly taken by millions of people in Eastern Europe.
