Coca-Cola's Powerade is being named and shamed in Australia.

It's been slammed in the 10th annual Fame and Shame Awards for marketing to children.

The company promoted an incentive based scheme to sport clubs, in which an unrealistic and unhealthy amount of its products were required to be sold in return for sports goods.

Clare Hughes from the Cancer Council in New South Wales says apart from naming and shaming, there're not a lot more repercussions for these big players.

"Unfortunately regulation around junk food marketing doesn't put children first when it comes to the unhealthy influence of junk food marketing."
