Residents of Sydney's north shore are being urged to remain calm amid reports that Manly Dam is at risk of overflowing.
Police say that while there is flooding in the area as a result of high tide, rain and heavy surf blocking the exit of water, the dam has not spilled over or released any water.
Officers have already spoken to residents who are likely to be evacuated in an emergency.
