A Kiwi woman who spent a year working at the iconic Redback Tavern in London said she has plenty of good memories.
The tavern was popular among New Zealand and Australian expats, but was destroyed by a fire just minutes after midnight on New Year's Day.
No one was injured in the blaze which tore through the pub in no time.
Antipodeans have flocked to social media to pay tribute to the Acton pub, which closed in 2012 and reopened as the Aeronaut.
Tanya Tetava worked at the pub in 2001 and said there was always a welcoming atmosphere.
"You'd walk in, the bands were playing, the staff were friendly, it was kind of like a home away from home just with all the friendships that you made because you were there regularly."
Tetava said the pub provided her with plenty of good memories.
"It was welcoming, they played lots of Australian and New Zealand songs. Because you were so far away from home, it was that sense of 'oh wow we're all here together doing the same thing on the other side of the world'- it was awesome."
