More than 300 Defence Force personnel are onboard the HMNZS Canterbury for a three-day relief trip to Fiji.

MORE: "Every house damaged or flattened"

MORE: More than 60 schools destroyed in Fiji

Members of the Air Force, Army, and Navy will provide support to the Fiji government in its efforts to rebuild schools, churches, and damaged communities.

There are nearly 40 vehicles, 100 tonnes of construction supplies and around five tonnes of food on board, as well as four helicopters.

The Offshore Patrol Vessel the HMNZS Wellington has already arrived in Fiji.

The Air Force is also operating there, with Hercules C-130s delivering relief supplies and equipment, and an Orion flying reconnaissance missions.
