Updated 9.59am: Antony de Malmanche, accused of smuggling drugs into Bali, was sweating so much at customs that his jacket was soaking wet.
The trial of the New Zealander heard that today from the officer who X-rayed his bag.
Customs officer Mario Leonard told the court de Malmanche arrived on a flight from Hong Kong around 2am and when his bag was X-rayed, it appeared suspicious.
There was only a jacket in it, but when it was removed the empty bag had a suspicious lump and was x-rayed again.
De Malmanche says he was unaware he was carrying 1.7 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine when he arrived in Bali on December 1 last year to meet a woman he'd met online.
His lawyer, Craig Tuck, says the prosecution case is full of holes, and they'll be pointing them out at his next appearance.
"You'll see next week when the police witnesses are called that there are big changes in the story, big gaps in the information presented, and a lot of it hopefully to the jury simply won't make sense."
Outside the courtroom, his legal team is claiming a victory, after managing to get him a cell in Kerobokan Prison.
Craig Tuck says it's still a struggle for his client.
"Tony has good days and has some very down days. The upside recently is that he has a cell, and that makes life a bit easier for him."
Earlier, lawyers for the 52-year-old tried unsuccessfully to have the trial aborted over issues with the indictment.
The trial continues next Thursday.
