
North Queensland residents are taking shelter as severe tropical Cyclone Nathan makes landfall.
The eye of the category four storm is crossing the coast now.
Flash flooding is a major concern for areas north of Port Douglas.
The cyclone's expected to move west and weaken.
Sky News weatherman Kenny Heatley has been tracking the category four cyclone through the night.
"The forward momentum speed of this system has been increasing and also the intensity is increasing. Now the system is making landfall on the Northern tropical coast of Queensland."
