One of Canada's richest men has been found dead with his wife in their home in Toronto.

An estate agent discovered the bodies of pharmaceutical entrepreneur Barry Sherman and his wife Honey.

The couple were well known philanthropists and active on the political scene.

Local police are investigating.

"Their deaths lead us to believe that there may be suspicious circumstances. It's an investigative tool. Until we know exactly how they died it will be treated as suspicious", they said.
