Australia's icebreaker has been refloated after more than two days stuck on rocks in Antarctica.

The Aurora Australis has been dislodged near the Mawson research station, with the help of work boats and a rising tide.

A spokesman for the Australian Antarctic Division has said there are no signs of a fuel leak.

"We are very pleased that there has been no negative impact to the marine environment as a result of this grounding."
