If it sounds too good to be true, it's probably too good to be true.
iPhone users around the world are falling for a hoax that they can put their phone in the microwave to charge it wirelessly.
A graphic doing the rounds on social media boasts that 'Apple Wave' is an iOS 8 exclusive feature and is automatically activated when people upgrade their iPhone.
It says that the upgrade "contains new drivers that interface with your device's radio-baseband allowing it to synchronize with microwave frequencies and use them to recharge your battery".
The fake instructions that are going around on social media
However some users have followed the instructions, only to find their expensive iPhone has melted or caught fire.

It's not the first time Apple fans have been fooled on social media - when iOS 7 was released last year there was a similar hoax that iPhones running the new operating system would be waterproof.
