Parts of Wellington are again flooded and the City Council concedes it has a problem on its hands.
Torrential rain has drenched the Capital this morning, with a particularly heavy burst between 10.30 and 11.
The rain has flooded parts of Adelaide Road, Kilbirnie Crescent and Thorndon Quay - two weeks to the day since heavy rain last flooded these same areas.
Wellington City Council spokesman Richard MacLean says they've been spending a lot of time looking at what caused the last bout of flooding, but today shows more urgency is needed.
"I was in a meeting yesterday where the water engineers were telling us about the level of the problem. We do have a problem on our hands.
Richard MacLean says council staff are out assessing the damage, with reports of water seeping into some shops.
