The final public poll before Saturday's election shows National up on the Labour Party by around eight percent.
The Newshub-Reid Research poll released tonight has National on 45.8 percent, a slight decrease of 1.5 points in the same poll.
Labour also suffered a small drop, down 0.5 points in the same poll to 37.3 percent.
Meanwhile, both New Zealand First and the Greens enjoyed a bump - both sitting on 7.1 percent.
What this poll shows is that, while National has a slight lead over the Opposition, neither major Party could govern alone or with their preferred coalition partners.
With the support of the Māori Party and Act, National would reach 59 seats while Labour and the Greens could only reach 54 - both short of the 62 needed to form a Government.
The minor parties enjoyed little change in the poll - The Opportunities Party is sitting on 0.9 percent, the Māori Party on 0.4 percent and ACT on 0.6 percent.
Despite this, the Māori Party's expected to win two electorate seats.
On this poll, it is hard to predict who will take power after the weekend's election, and suggests New Zealand First remains in the position of kingmaker.
The Reid Research poll follows today's Herald-ZB Kantar TNS which showed that the economy is the most important issue for voters this election.
