A specialist fire investigator will today examine the scene of a major fire on Marlborough's east coast.
The blaze, just north of Seddon, burnt through around 53-hectares of dry grassland in less than 24 hours - the cause of the blaze isn't yet known.
Principal Rural Fire Officer Richard McNamara says the team still have further work ahead of them.
"We'll fly a thermal camera over the fire ground, pick out any remaining hotspots and direct crews on from there."
