All Whites striker Chris Wood has continued his fine scoring run after giving Nottingham Forest the lead in their 1-1 English Premier League draw against leaders Liverpool this morning.
Before the outing, Liverpool was the only current Premier League side that Wood hadn’t scored a goal against.
That lasted less than 10 minutes as he opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a first-time left foot strike following a through ball from Anthony Elanga into the box.
It was Wood’s 13th league goal of the season. Forest took the 1-0 lead into the break but couldn’t hand Liverpool a third league defeat of the season.
Diogo Jota levelled the score for the visitors in the 66th minute as the game ended in a stalemate.
The draw sees Forest move into second place on 41 points, six back from Liverpool. Third-placed Arsenal are on 40 points and take on rivals Tottenham tomorrow morning.
In other matches this morning, defending champions Manchester City were held to a 2-2 draw with 10th-placed Brentford while Chelsea needed an stoppage-time equaliser from Reece James to avoid a defeat to Bournemouth.
Meanwhile West Ham earned a 3-2 win over Fulham, their first under new manager Graham Potter.
