Toronto have confirmed they are in fresh talks with All Black Sonny Bill Williams.
Wolfpack head coach Brian McDermott revealed earlier this month the dual international had expressed an interest in joining the Canadian club.
Yesterday, the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Williams had been offered $9.7 million to sign with the Woldpack for two years.
It is believed that figure would make him the highest-paid player in the history of league and union.Â
McDermott is thought to have held face-to-face talks with the centre or edge forward in Japan at the weekend.
Toronto chairman Bob Hunter has told the PA news agency they are in discussions with Williams but nothing is finalised or confirmed.
