New Zealand Education Institute president Lynda Stuart said the parties are challenging the Government to fix chronic under-funding in public education.
The alliance has pledged to pump $4.5 billion into the sector and reverse a $30 billion reduction over the next decade.
Stuart said Labour and the Greens are prepared to fund education properly.
"And so what we're seeing there is a commitment. They're making education a core election issue and that's one of the things we want to see."
She's challenging the Government to come up with a similar policy.
"Ensuring the opportunities are there for our children, parents aren't going to have to put their hands in their pockets, and that we've got the funding that we need. That's great."
