Auckland based local body activist Penny Bright has lost her latest battle against the Auckland Council.
She'd petitioned Parliament asking it conduct an inquiry into the council, claiming it had a conflict of interest in being a member of the Property Council while making decisions on property related matters.
Parliament's Local Government and Environment Committee has looked into the matter and has found it doesn't consider Ms Bright's claim has been substantiated.
It's also found she was wrong in suggesting membership of the Property Council is not publicly available.
The committee said the council has a directory of members that is available on request.
Bright has been engaged in a long running war with Auckland Council, during which she has refused to pay her rates.Â
She recently stood for mayor of Auckland, placing 6th.
