The Prime Minister's baby could have a playground to go to while mum's at work with plans to build one on Parliament's lawn.
It's understood Parliamentary Services will be putting plans out for tender today.
Chief political reporter Yvette McCullough says this is the latest step to try make parliament more family friendly, with hope of encouraging more families to visit parliament.
"It's understood the small playground, featuring a big slide, tunnel, maze and stepping stones built from sustainable materials, would be built in an area of the lawn near the trees but wouldn't interfere with the view or aesthetic of parliament grounds."
Wellington City Council has been consulted on the idea and has given their approval.
