Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully is recovering following surgery last week.
Mr McCully's office has issued a statement saying he's recuperating in Auckland and is expected to make a full recovery.
He'll be on leave until he gets back to full health and his responsibilities will be taken over by the Prime Minister.
