Vandals have struck the office of Foreign Minister and East Coast Bays MP Murray McCully’s office after New Zealand co-sponsored a UN resolution against Israeli settlements.
A photograph posted to Reddit shows graffiti on the frontage of McCully’s electorate office in Browns Bay, calling him a “traitor” and “Jew hater”.
A spokesman for Mr McCully says the damage has been reported to the landlord, who removed the spray paint today.
It isn't the first time an MP's electorate office has been vandalised.
Last year in February Anne Tolley's Whakatane office was vandalised with anti-TPP messages.
The electorate offices of former PMs John Key and Helen Clark were also attacked during their tenures.
In 2015 an Otago University survey found 87 percent of politicians have faced harassment, including bullets in the mail, death threats, or vandalism of their homes.
