Three new multi-institution research hubs are being created, to boost scientific collaboration.

The $451 million investment includes a climate change and disaster resilience hub, bringing together expertise from NIWA, GNS and universities, while a new centre will focus on health and pandemic readiness.

A third hub is centred around technology and innovation, with a focus on advanced manufacturing and energy futures.

$55 million dollars is being invested in fellowships, to retain and develop at least 260 research leaders.
