A programme providing subsidies to employers of apprentices is being extended until the end of next year.

Continued support for the Apprenticeship Boost initiative will cost $77 million, including new funding of $17 million.

Meanwhile the biggest boost to tertiary subsidies in two decades will see $521 million invested over four years, including a phased increase of 15 percent for Level 3 and above matauranga Maori.
