The Government's under fire for its transport funding priorities.
New data shows Auckland Transport spent almost $650,000 dollars on advertising their half-priced public transport scheme in the last 12 months.
Last year, Newstalk ZB revealed Waka Kotahi had spent $700,000 dollars on its ad campaign.
Combined with Auckland Transport's ad spend, the total advertising bill for the scheme is $1.3 million dollars.
National's Simeon Brown says the money's proved to be a waste, as public transport patronage numbers show the campaign didn't result in more people taking public transport.
He says this is just the Government spending money trying to advertise their policies, rather than getting the busses, trains and ferries working reliably.
The Government has previously argued the purpose of the ad campaign was to bring back people who stopped using public transport due to Covid-19.
