Andrew Little is gone and Jacinda Ardern now occupies sole position on Labour's billboard, the first of which was unveiled in Auckland today.

The new billboard is white with a red logo, unlike the traditional red background.

Buoyed by Labour's spectacular rise to 37 percent in the latest One News Colmar Brunton opinion poll, and her own rating of 30 percent - equal to that of Bill English, Ms Ardern's not counting her chickens.

"Certainly it's heartening, but we also have to acknowledge that we do have a way to go before being in a position to form a government, so we're going to use every single day of this campaign to give it all we've got."

Ms Ardern told reporters she didn't know how much it had cost to replace the billboards, saying "that's not a question I've asked".

Campaign manager Andrew Kirton said about 5000 new boards will start sprouting up around the country soon, with variants covering key policy areas.

"Our new hoardings give voters a sense of the policy areas that Jacinda and Labour are focused on, while making it clear that it is the party vote that matters," he said.

A crowd of young Labour supporters decked out in white T-shirts bearing the party's new campaign slogan "let's do this" were supporting Ardern as she revealed the signs.

They were in good spirits and were quick to yell out "Go Labour" while punching the air every time a car tooted.
