Rotorua residents are being warned to stay home and keep water use at a minimum as torrential rain has flooded homes and businesses, and stranded residents.
Emergency services and Rotorua Lakes Council services have been inundated with calls from flood-stricken residents as downpours of rain hit the city early this morning.
In some areas trees are down and roads are closed.
