The Property Council said West Auckland is the big winner out of the governments' Auckland infrastructure announcements.
Constructions for the City Rail Link will now start in 2018 and when finished will shave 17 minutes off a train trip from Henderson.
Chief executive Connal Townsend said it will connect up existing lines, and give Aucklanders in the north-west and south much greater flexibility.
"Under the Auckland plan, under the unitary plan those are there as identified where an awful lot of those future developments are going to occur. The rail link's going to open that up and be able to bring people into the central city."
He also said the Property Council's members are in support of a motorway toll to help pay for Auckland's new infrastructure - by a slim majority.
Auckland Council is suggested putting a toll on its major motorways to help fund its half of the City Rail Link.
Mr Townsend said they're going to have to find the money somehow.
"It's very very difficult to spread the load across rates and certainly a very small toll would do the job"
Mr Townsend believes the only tricky thing about it, is that it's not introducing a new toll road, which is easy to get support on.
Rather, he says, it's making people pay for something that was previously free to them.
