A 43-year-old-man was arrested after an unprovoked attack on an elderly woman last month. 

The 88-year-old woman was knocked to the ground, her attacker walking off while onlookers attempted to help. 

Police said it received reports that an older person had been injured in the apparent assault on Federal St shortly before 12.30pm on the 5th of May. 

Police were able to locate and arrest the man responsible fairly quickly.
