
Fire crews are battling a large fire that has spread to two neighbouring homes in Auckland.
Fire and Emergency shift manager Colin Underdown said crews are responding to a blaze involving the two homes in Milldale.

Underdown said firefighters responded to multiple calls regarding a house fire in Wainui at 11.21am.
The blaze started in a two-storey house on Lees St before spreading to a neighbouring single-storey home.

Nine fire crews were on site working to prevent the fire spreading to adjacent properties, Underdown said.
Residents on social media posted about the “huge fire” and sympathised with the “poor families” involved.
One local resident said one of the houses was “completely gone” while a neighbouring property “was not looking great either”, RNZ reported.
“The roof of the main house collapsed in and there was car in the driveway that was completely burnt out too.”
