Two teenage hunters who went missing in Raukūmara Forest Park on the East Coast have been found.

A Ruatoria resident told the Herald the 15-year-old Bay of Plenty boys were found on Opiti Rd and were well.

“They were unprepared for an overnight stay, especially two wet ones.”

Ground and aerial search and rescue teams were honing in on the last known location of the pair and an army helicopter had also been called in to help.

The pair were reported missing yesterday morning after they failed to return from a hunting trip.
