NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is advising road users to avoid a section of State Highway 3 near Whanganui due to a fire at Kai Iwi.

NZTA advised SH3, between Pukerimu Rd and Rangitatau East Rd, was closed due to a fire.

The closure began at 11.30am.

“Road users are advised to avoid the area, delay their journey or use an alternative route.”
