Tens of thousands of people have reported issues with several Meta apps this morning.
Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are reportedly experiencing problems, according to Downdetector reports.
There have been reports of widespread outages with Meta services globally. Downdetector registered a spike to nearly 4000 Facebook New Zealand outage reports shortly after 7am.
Meta services appeared to be coming back on for some users shortly after 7.40am (NZT).
Meta shared on X that they were “working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible”.
More than 70,000 people have reported issues with the popular apps globally.
“We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can,” a message on Facebook’s homepage reads.
Facebook is down for hundreds of thousands of people this morning.
In March this year, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and Threads went down for users around the world with many people unable to log in to their accounts for more than an hour.
Meta has been approached for comment.
