The woman who died in Wellington Hospital following an incident in Feilding on Boxing Day has been named by police as Cavillie Maria Simeon.
She was 58.
Simeon was transported by ambulance early on Friday morning from Feilding to Palmerston North Hospital after becoming unwell in relation to an injury she suffered the night before.
While in hospital, her condition deteriorated to the point where she became critically ill.
Simeon was then transferred to Wellington Hospital.
She died on Sunday, December 29.
“Police extend our sympathies to her family and friends at this difficult time,” Detective Sergeant Rochelle Ross said today.
“Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the death.”
Earlier this week, police confirmed they were speaking with the occupants of the Feilding address where Simeon was believed to be injured to understand what occurred there.
A scene examination was carried out at the address.
